Among the many stories related to using mouse as his vehicle (Vahana in Sanskrit), one is that the lord is able to go into any nook and cranny and do his ‘job’ as the Destroyer of Obstacles. Capturing this quality of all-pervasiveness of Ganesha, this sculpture chalkstone gets an added touch of grace with its unique colour contrasts.

Abhaya Mudra: In the wardship of Lord Buddha

Depicted here in this white sandstone sculpture is Lord Buddha performing the Abhaya Mudra which literally translates to a hand gesture that portrays fearlessness. It is believed that this is the mudra that the Lord first displayed after attaining enlightenment. It is performed by holding one hand up with the elbow bent and palm facing outward while the other hand rests on the lap. This conveys a sense of peace and security as the hands are empty, devoid of any weapons. Intricately designed and carved, this idol when placed in the entrance hall may ward off any evil.
