Vimurchana: The Music of the Lord

The bamboo flute, considered to be the most natural, is Hindu Lord Krishna's favorite instrument. In this sculpture, made out of sandstone, the lord is seen completely absorbed in melody (Vimurchana in Sanskrit) emanating from the instrument. It is said that the lord used to communicate with his spiritual companion Radha through the music from the flute which only she understood.
